Beloved actor Michael J. Fox, famed for “Back To The Future,” is mourning. His 12-year-old dog Gus, a Great Dane-Labrador mix, has died. Gus was with Fox through 12 years of highs and lows. Now the actor faces life without his faithful pal.
Fox told his million social media followers, sharing a pic of Gus, “Gus — great dog and loyal friend, we’ll miss you.” He also cited pages 220-222 of his 2020 memoir, “No Time Like The Future: an Optimist Considers Mortality.” In it, he calls Gus his “wonder dog” who brought joy.
Gus was big in Fox’s life, especially during his Parkinson’s fight, known for over 20 years. The memoir shows Gus’s value and how much he’ll be missed as family.
Fox wrote, “I didn’t rescue Gus. He may have rescued me, but he’d be too humble to say.” The actor says Gus’s love eased his isolation in health battles.
